As you may know I am fairly new to the Internet Marketing game. Trying to get this website up and running while still learning about the business. It has all been a big learning process for me, and I come across new techniques, resources, and tools everyday. Some of them I like and some of them are just not for me.
One tool I recently found is Clicky Web Analytics. I ran across it as a free option on my first free web based site. It was installed already and I found it to be a very useful tool to see where my traffic was coming from, and what they were doing while they were there.
I immediately signed up and installed it on Project: Fire My Boss. It didn’t take long and wasn’t all that hard to do since there is a plugin here at my Word Press site. Believe me, if I installed it, you can too. There are easy installation instructions for other platforms, also.
Now if you only sign up for the free version, it only allows the use of one domain name. But you can add more domains to it with a membership upgrade. There are four upgrade packages to choose from.
Now I’m going to show you what Clicky looks like.
Click on the images below for a better view.
(they will open in a new window)
Below is a look at how the traffic sources are broken down.
As you can see it gives you a complete list of where you traffic is coming from as well as a day to day graph. Very helpful when you want to see what is working and what is not doing so well.
Below is a screenshot of Clicky at my site.
You can see how Clicky breaks down all of tour information. Keep in mind this is only a partial screenshot that only shows a few of the 16 widgets that can be added for your website. Some of the other widgets includes are locale, links, recent visitors, and campaigns just to name a few.
Now I know what your going to say. But Ray there are so many free web analytic tools out there. With Google Analytics at or near the the top of the list
So, why should I sign up for my free Clicky account?
Let me tell you why. Their affiliate program will reward you for sharing Clicky. You will earn 20% of every payment made to them by any user who signs up through your affiliate link. They must become a paying premium member. Also, there is a second tier commission of 5%, which means you will get 5% of any payment made to them by your referral’s referrals.
You will also be paid $5.00 for putting a short article on your website. Just write a small article about Clicky Web Statistics and send them the link.
So lets quickly sum it up here. You sign up for free and get your affiliate ID. Write a few blurbs about it on your site with a some affiliate links to Clicky in it. Spread the word a little bit. You get 5 bucks for your trouble, and maybe a few referrals out of the deal. Not that hard. And you’ll always have that post for visitors to check out.
Why not take Clicky out for a test drive, it’s free, so all it will cost you is a little of your time.
