What is IM or Internet Marketing.  Well I guess you can say IM can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people.  There are many different ways one can market on the internet and be successful.  By taking proven strategies, ideas you get from others,  and your own ideas will help you come up with a game plan for Internet marketing.

You have a consumer and a product, and the job of an internet marketer is to align the two. It doesn’t really matter exactly how you get that consumer to the product, all that matters is that you get them there.  And when you do you earn a commission and will start to generate an income.

And it doesn’t mean that the only way you earn a commission is by the consumer buying the product.

Commission Per Action or CPA marketing is when you align the consumer to the product and a certain action is performed.  This may be something like accessing a trial offer or submitting a form.

Commission Per Sale or CPS is when that consumer buys something.  This can be your own product or a product that is not yours.  Selling that product that is not yours is known as affiliate marketing.

Now remember, you DO NOT need your own product for you to generate an income from internet marketing.  There are literally 1,000’s of companies that are looking for people to promote their product in exchange for a commission.

You may be wondering why companies would do this.  Just consider this, these companies could spend millions on market research and  Ad campaigns or they can have 1,000’s of affiliates doing that work for them.  They don’ have to spend all that money, plus the reach of all their affiliate marketers is so wide.  It’s a win-win situation for them.

How Internet Marketing  Works

Companies have what they call affiliate programs.  When you sign up to promote a companies product or service they will give you a tracking link that is unique to your account.  you use this link to refer people to their website.  If someone buys their product through your affiliate link, it will identify you as the affiliate that referred them to their product.  And you will get a commission on that sale.
